An ESIGELEC team at the NI Days fair

ESIGELEC took part in the robotics Challenge of the NI Days fair for the fifth consecutive year on March 10th. A student team ran in the RIO Cup, dedicated to Universities and Engineering schools, while a teacher-researcher presented his work in robotics on a stand. Silver medallist in 2013, ESIGELEC reached top rank again by winning the Bronze medal.

The challenge was organized within the framework of National Instruments' annual meeting. It consisted in conceiving an autonomous robot using the Robotics LabVIEW kit and programming it to be capable of completing a few missions : close gates, pick up black and orange ping-pong balls, sort them by color, drop the orange balls in a paddock, push other balls into pits, and shoot 4 balls equipped with velcro tape at a target. Our team scored 175.5 points during the qualifying round 109 points in the finals.

Congratulations to Abdifatah Awaleh, Alexandre d'Avignon and Junyu Liang for bearing ESIGELEC's colors proudly !
