CESAR, the Rouen Conurbation Higher Education Conference, has a new President. Christine DISPA, Director of the Northwest CESI, is stepping down at the end of her 2 year term of office and will be succeeded by ESIGELEC General Manager Etienne CRAYE.
The association, which was set up in 2008, can congratulate itself on its “International staff training week”, during which it hosted partner universities from around the world, and its participation over the last few years in a range of activities organised jointly with organisations such as Rouen City Council, Rouen Normandie Metropolitan Authority or the CROUS. Many projects carried out with these partners have had a positive effect in the areas of hosting of international students, travel, awareness of the risks of evening events, accommodation, sustainable campuses and even student life; some of the standout events of the academic year being Les Zazimuts, Students of the World Night and the Rouen Normandie Sup’ Cup, which attracted 1,500 participants to the Kindarena.
During his term of office, Etienne Craye wants to focus on 4 major areas: students’ living conditions (in particular improving access to culture and sport), the attractiveness of higher education in Rouen both domestically and internationally, setting up a single reception point for international teaching staff and students in close cooperation with the Metropolitan Authority, and the sustainable development strategy common which covers 10 CESAR institutions (Northwest CESI, CNAM, ENSAN, ESADHAR, ESIGELEC, ESITPA, IDS, Rouen INSA, NEOMA Business School, Rouen University).
The composition of the new CESAR bureau is as follows :
Etienne CRAYE (Managing Director of ESIGELEC), President
Christine DISPA (Director of North West CESI), Vice President
Claude ROZE (Manager of the ESITech engineering school at the University of Rouen), Treasurer
