On Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 May 2016, ESIGELEC hosted "Rencontres Siemens Industry 2016".
These two days revolve around presentations of the technological offer to students on 9 May, and a conference for industry on 10 May in the Charliat amphitheatre, followed by a forum.
The theme for these meetings is "The future of industry/Industry 4.0: exploiting the potential of digitalisation" and "Integrated Engineering: from design to the optimisation of the production tool, via services".
A talk by Alexandre Wahl, Director of the new development agency for Normandy, (AND) closed the event.
More than 400 industrialists took part in the ESIGELEC event. During his opening speech, Etienne Craye, the Director of ESIGELEC, reminded everyone of the university's fundamental mission: all aspects of engineering education (training, professional contracts, continuous training etc.), research & transfer, and participation in the economic development of the region. It was also pointed out that ESIGELEC's positioning is much like Siemens, with "intelligent and connected systems that are the very essence of the industry of the future". He concluded with these words: "Business is in our DNA, you are at home here."
