ESIGELEC and ETDE, Bouygues Construction Energy and Services division, sign a school-company partnership agreement

On May 25th 2012, ESIGELEC and ETDE, Bouygues Construction Energy and Services division, signed a school-company partnership agreement to set their relationship in stone. The two organisations have previously worked together to improve student training and ensure it better meets the needs of companies. Eric Durieux, Managing Director of ESIGELEC and Thierry Serres, ETDE HR Director, signed the partnership agreement in “Challenger”, Bouygues Construction HQ, in front of Vincent Fillatre, ETDE Electrical and Thermal Engineering Development Director and patron of the ESIGELEC 2012 graduation ceremony, along with ESIGELEC apprentices and interns at ETDE and ETDE employees who graduated from the school.

A professional training partnership
The partnership consolidates and formalises a relationship in which both organisations have previously worked together to improve student training and ensure it better meets the needs of companies.
Partnership aims :
  • Strengthen links with the faculty. ETDE representatives will be involved in training students and contribute to adapting the programme to suit the needs of the business world.
  • Participate in developing teaching content and methods.
  • Prepare students for professional life.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and integration of young graduates, apprentices and interns in the 200 ETDE centres in France and abroad.
  • Promote further training for ETDE employees in ESIGELEC.

Unique patronage in majors
The partnership also involves ETDE patronage for the Business Engineering major in September 2012. The subject’s teaching content is integral to the company’s careers.
60 students per year attend the Business Engineering major’s two modules, “Energy Distribution and Networks” and “IT and Networks” during the last two years of ESIGELEC’s general programme.
Patronage for the major will also involve specific activities such as time in the company alongside ETDE engineers, site visits, speed interviews and participation in the Bouygues Construction inter-school challenge.
ETDE engineers will also take part in the annual steering committee for the major to have their say in any changes and ensure it satisfies company needs.
ETDE will further highlight its presence by ESIGELEC’s side by taking part in the school’s professional events such as the Normandy Student Company Forum on November 15th 2012 and “Company Thursdays”. ETDE will also continue to offer visits to major worksites – e.g. the recent visit to Amiens University Hospital – and will take part in events such as the graduation ceremony in March 2012 and the school’s Gala.
